After installation, I did not see the same "focusrite control" driver that I had seen before, but instead three new drivers in the "focusrite Audio" section. I figured that having that "focusrite control" driver along with the regular driver might be the key, so I googled "download focusrite control driver" and found this fairly unexplanatory site:Īt this site I downloaded Windows: Focursrite Control 2.3.4. As soon as I did, the "control" driver went away and the green light on the interface went off - back to square one.

I went back to the orignal download site listed above and redownloaded the original drivers as the "control" driver suggested. The description for the "focusrite control" driver said that the device drivers were not installed, and needed to be installed. I checked the device manager, and a new driver called "focusrite control" was installed, even though the regular drivers listed above were not installed. When I plugged it back in, the green and red lights on the interface came on. I unistalled the focusrite drivers from the windows device manager, then unplugged the audio interface.
There were two drivers under the focusrite audio section, one called " Scarlett 2i2" and another called "USB audio root", both of which have expired certificates. I couldn't find anything online about this issue but by a stroke of luck I solved it myself, so I though I'd share my results for anyone who is currently tearing their hair out over this problem.Īfter I first installed the device drivers the red light on my interface came on, but not the green light, and Ableton was unable to find the interface. Hi all, I recently had a critical issue installing the drivers for my Scarlett 2i2 2nd generation.
